As some of you will be aware CMS has participated in The Big 5 Trade show in Dubai in the past with both Manufacturers and The Specifier professionals taking part with success. As Dubai is under financial pressure currently but with other regions having significant projects on we still believe that having a presence in the area either with a distributor/joint venture base this Trade Show is the right tool to participate in due to Qatar being successful with the World Cup in 2022. By the commencement of the games 90,000 Hotel rooms are required and the construction of 22 stadiums is required, providing excellent opportunities in both manufactured products and professional skills such as Architecture, Engineering, Quantity Surveyors and other professionals. Other who have participated in Dubai in the past have been able to form Joint ventures with other Practises and offer skills to these which have a place on this market. Current USD250billion, World Cup additional USD 160 billion with a growth rate of 10%. Plus Qatar is the largest exporter of natural Gas. They discuss important findings in relation to heat transfer and the implications on the way we build today. The Talk included, What are the 3 different types of heat transfer? On the night we learn from Frank & George the advantages of concealed deck fixings; what is DNA Lumber and the latest in MDF Panels that are made Formaldehyde Free and from recycled materials. Along with, KlevaKlip. Steve introduced a multi-board clip to fit 90mm Merbau timber decking – the single most widely used decking product in Australia. This clip is believed to be the worlds’ only multi-board clip for timber that doesn’t require pre-grooving of the boards. Plus the demonstrating of attaching the deck easily finished off the night.
